DEFINITION: Chalazae

The chalaza (pronounced /kəˈleɪzə/; from Greek χάλαζα "hailstone"; plural chalazas or chalazae) is a structure inside bird and reptile eggs and plant ovules. It attaches or suspends the yolk or nucellus within the larger structure.

DEFINITION: CoE

This is shorthand which the authors Jeff Miller & Pam Hoffman use which stands for 'Conservation of Eggs' the overriding name of the series of books; the first of which is titled "Where's My Other Half?"

Have You Ever Been Stuck, With One Egg Yolk or One Egg White After Using a Recipe?

The first book has simple recipes that provide you with ways to use the 'other half' of the egg.

We encourage you to "Stop Wasting Yolks!"

Which Came First?

Which Came First? The Chicken or the Egg?

Apparently, this question has been pondered by scientific minds for some time now and they may be getting closer...

It’s the age-old question that has puzzled the finest minds for thousands of years — which came first: The chicken or the egg? Now, scientists claim to have finally discovered the answer to the conundrum — it’s the chicken which came first.

A team from University of Sheffield and University of Warwickhas found that a protein called ovocleidin (OC-17) is crucial in the formation of eggshells.
